Another Close Loss for Warriors

Ottumwa -- Visiting NIACC scored three goals in the first 26 minutes of action and went on to defeat Indian Hills, 3-1, in men's soccer action at the Walsh Soccer Complex on Saturday. The loss drops the Warriors' season record to 1-6. Four of the losses have been by either one or two goals.

The Warriors scored Saturday's only second-half goal, freshman Damian Sheerin (West Point) scoring off an assist from freshman Gustavo Scorzelli (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) in the 85th minute. NIACC had tallied the three early goals against IHCC goalkeeper Ben Smiley (Norwalk), who recorded five saves. Backup keeper Noah Cutler (Fort Madison) had three saves for the Warriors.

Both Sheerin and Pedro Jurno (Sao Paulo, Brazil) had three shots for IHCC.

Indian Hills goes to Marshalltown to take on the Tigers on Tuesday. Marshalltown defeated Indian Hills 5-1 in the season-opener earlier this month.
