Warriors Lose Heartbreaker to Iowa Western

Council Bluffs, IA -- Iowa Western scored the game-winning goal with one minute left in overtime as the Reivers knocked off Indian Hills, 2-1, on Saturday in Council Bluffs. The loss drops the Warriors' season record to 1-8, but it was the latest in a string of close losses for IHCC.

Freshman Cheyne Reiter opened the scoring with a goal for IHCC just seven minutes into the match. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ben Smiley kept the home team off the scoreboard until there were 15 minutes remaining in the second half when the Reivers scored the tying goal. They then scored the deciding goal late in the OT session.

Smiley had a great game according to IHCC coach Kirk Artist piling up 12 saves and continually thwarting the IWCC attack.

Indian Hills will head to Fort Dodge on Wednesday to take on Iowa Central. IHCC will look to avenge an earlier 5-1 loss to the Tritons.
