Warriors Down Scott for 1st Win

Ottumwa -- After a pair of tough losses last week, the Indian Hills men's soccer team notched its first win of the season on Monday, defeating Scott CC, 4-1, at the Walsh Soccer Complex.

Freshman Pedro Jurno (Sao Paulo, Brazil) started the scoring for IHCC with a goal at the 32-minute mark. Cheyne Reiter, a freshman from LaPorte City, scored his first of two goals later in the half and freshman Isidore Ekukanjuh (Ottumwa) found the back of the net near the end of the first half to give the Warriors a three-goal lead. Ekukanjuh had assisted on Reiter's earlier goal.

After Scott tallied their only goal in the second half, Reiter closed out the scoring for IHCC with a goal off an assist from freshman Gustavo Scorzelli (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil).

Noah Cutler, a freshman goalkeeper from Ft. Madison, played the second half in the net for IHCC and allowed the lone Scott goal. Ben Smiley (Norwalk) was in goal in the opening half for the Warriors.
Indian Hills is now 1-4 for the season and bounced back nicely from a pair of losses last week, 2-0 to Dakota County and 5-1 to Iowa Central.

Monday's match closed out a season-opening five-game homestand. The Warriors go on the road Wednesday when they travel to Spencer to take on Iowa Lakes CC. IHCC will battle NIACC at the Walsh Complex on Saturday.
